How many of your pages are NOT indexed by Google?

By Mike Liebner • on January 2, 2010

I have a hot tip for an inexpensive yet fantastic tool that will help you find out which of your pages are NOT indexed by Google!

I just bought it myself and wanted to share it with you! It’s called Index Checker and it’s a steal at 7 bucks!

>>> Get it here >>> Index Checker

If you’re like me, you most likely have one or two or even many high quality web sites that may have a lot of pages indexed by Google. You may not realize it, but for some reason not all of the pages are indexed by Google. Even if you have a site map – chances are NOT ALL of your pages are indexed!

It happens to even the biggest and most successful sites in the world. It even happens to sites like ezinearticles and goarticles and hubpages and squidoo to name a few. Google simply does not index everything 100% all of the time UNLESS you find out what is NOT indexed and NUDGE them with a link they can crawl!

If you have a large site with many pages it can be a hassle to tell which URLs are NOT indexed.

Sure, it’s easy to find out which pages are indexed by Google (search for site:your-domain-name-here.org) and they will list the pages that are indexed. But what about the ones NOT indexed? Do you really want to find them one by one looking for the needle in the haystack???

Up until now I have mostly simply passed over this and let the chips fall where they may. Not anymore!

>>> Get it here >>> Index Checker

Index checker will look at a site map or xml file (such as an RSS feed) from your blog or your feed at ezinearticles etc. and will show you the URLs of the pages that are NOT indexed.

If you are an Article Underground member, simply link the page or pages in a few of the Article Announcements Blogs and soon the URLs will surely get crawled and indexed! How easy is that!

Alternately, if you are not a member of Article Underground you can use your own websites or social bookmarking to link the pages so Google finds them.

Now – if you have a LOT of pages – like say 100 or more that are not yet indexed for some reason – I have a clever solution that won’t take much time. Simply take the list of URLS that Index Checker will give you, and use a random cgi script or Wordpress plugin (not java) to randomly rotate through the list of links on one of your pages that is ALREADY INDEXED. A static link would be better – but if you have a BIG LIST of URL’s – using a script to rotate links on a page can be a time saver and should help you get at least some of them indexed over time without too much effort.

If you are a member of Article Underground, I have already provided a free RANDOM ROTATE CGI script on the members bonus page. If not, you can find a script or plugin by searching on Google – just make sure that it is NOT JAVA and that the text links are VISIBLE in the source code so Google actually crawls them.

So – what are you waiting for? 7 Bucks! Go get Index Checker now! It’s a no brainer!

Great suggestion Mike. I’ve been using Market Samurai for this but of course it is not as and straighforward as this program, specially when you got a huge list of links to check.

Hi Mike,

It’s very true that not all pages are indexed not only in Google but also in Yahoo and the other search engine that keeps changing names MSN-Bing.

I’ve noticed that for some reason pages that used to be indexed aren’t. Are they trying to save room or space?

I’ve noticed the violet video on Mac versus PC. Since there is no comment box there I’ll respond to it here.

I’m sure that you have a valid reason for this reaction but it is based on the past.

Right now many big internet marketers are switching to Mac and there is no comparison with PC. It is PC which is now becoming obsolete.

When I saw that heading on your blog I thought I would get some valid current comparison. Instead I got an attempt to avenge an old hurt.

Perhaps you could recalibrate your view of Mac and give some current information.

Hi guys. I wish I knew what parameters they used to index. I’m sure it’s too complicated – but I do know – URL’s that are linked from external pages have a very high chance of getting crawled and staying in the index.

As for Mac vs PC – someone sent that video to me – I thought it was funny! That’s why I put it up.

I don’t think much about APPLE but I am glad I mad the call about 5 years ago and switched to the PC.

The world has opened up to me and I have opportunities with PCs I could never have with Mac.

Sorry – but MAC still is a boutique brand and not mainstream enough to really have the proper representation of software and utilities that are really out there.

What I mean is – I appreciate how on PCs there are ZILLIONS of options – not one or two or NONE in the case of most freeware and software utilities – especially for SEO and marketing.

Now – that isn’t isn’t even including my feelings about Apples evil world domination plans and their forcing of formats and intentionally restricting us so we have no choice than to do things their way.

That’s not my idea of a positive experince with computing.

So – while my MAC friends all feel high and mighty and try their hardest to convert me me back – I can never go back to the ex that broke my heart…. I have too many floppies and syquest cartridges and cds full of files in forants I will never be able to open. That hurts! And it’s all because Apple wants to have their own formats and not share the pie.

Other than that – Macs are fine. I have nothing against people who use them. I just don’t want top personally get trapped with formats and conventions that will very likely become extinct.
