I have been trying to do things like this with Squidoo but not too much luck in it ranking high up in Google without having to build a lot of backlinks, which can be tricky or time consuming. I’ve got a magic formula that works on Associated Content and my own websites that makes things I want to be #1 for my keywords…but google just hates my squidoo pages for some reason! Any insight on that?

Authority Sites are generally those that are ‘in favor” with Google. For example http://www.squidoo.com and http://www.hubpages.com are getting lots of love from Goo. They are free hosted so you can post your own stuff and in many cases you’ll see free traffic because Google will trust these sites and rank their stuff higher than sites they don’t trust

So when possible – go after LINKS and POSTS on sites that are “authoritative”!

Good point – you should spend some effort on getting links pointed at your pages on squidoo, hubpages etc. That will help youget more traffic. Usually only a few will give you a big boost since these sites have authoritystatus and rank easily – often without linking help :’>

Thanks. That is by far the cheapest way to start an online business. Minimal low capital and potential lifetime profit. People should start exhausting these free avenue to profit in their quest for online business.

What a great resource this site is. I will be returning frequently. On your latest post about articles, I would just add..when you make feeder sites like squidoo..what I do is promote those sites just like you would your money site…when they become more popular the more traffic you will recieve from google.
